Resumen:
Renewable energy sources are alternatives to fossil fuel. These sources contribute to reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, diversify energy supply and reduce dependence on volatile and unreliable fossil fuel markets (particularly, oil and gas). In this context, solar energy has a key role in the premise of having electricity with less environmental impact. At the same time, within the classification of solar energy, they are the Photovoltaic (PV) systems that are generally installed in areas with many sun hours. This exposure to high temperatures dramatically reduces the energy generated. This paper shows the importance of taking into account the effect of temperature on the overall performance of a PV energy conversion system. In order to quantify this influence on PV systems, detailed models of PV modules are developed using the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
