Resumen:
BACKGROUND: There are limited data on 'masked uncontrolled hypertension (MUCH) in patients with treated and apparently well-controlled BP is unknown.OBJECTIVES: To define the prevalence and predictors of MUCH among hypertensive patients with controlled office blood pressure.METHODSOut of a total of 984 ABPM performed during the 246 working days of 2018, demographic data, medication, blood pressure values in the office and if there was a previous diagnosis of hypertension in 731 studies were obtained. MUCH was diagnosed if average 24-h ABPM was elevated (systolic BP≥130mmHg and / or diastolic BP≥80mmHg) despite controlled clinic BP. Fixed doses was used in 20 % of patient, independent of number of drugs prescribed. The pharmacology group most prescribed was BRA. The combination pharmacology most prescribed was ACEI/Diuretics. In 170 studies (23.2%) had MUCH according to 24-h ABPM criteria (mean age 55.5 ± 9.3years, 53.6% men). MUCH was mostly caused by the poor control of nocturnal BP (57.3% vs. 27.1%, P
