Resumen:
The atherosclerotic narrowing of the arterial lumen is not simply the result of enlargement of atherosclerotic lesions. Arteries, instead of making a light by narrowing the arterial remodeling, make a number of changes, such as increasing the outer diameter, so as to allow the preservation of blood flow.  This adaptability is essential in most arterial disease. Diseases such as arterial hypertension may be considered as failures of the arterial wall to maintain a suitable mesh size to allow normal blood flow.  Recently it has been suggested that the inability to properly remodel vessels is a form of "vascular insufficiency", similar to the heart to heart failure.
