Resumen:
Introduction Sanitary area of Godoy Cruz counts on 16 Centers of Health and a Center of Distribution of Pharmaceutical Supplies (CDPS) who centralizes the pharmaceutical management. Our objective was to analyze the variations of the monodrug consumption, to detect the more prescribed and to relate them to the consultations and prescriptions during four years in this Area. Materials and Methods An observational, descriptive and retrospective study was performed from the 01/01/2006 to 31/12/2009. The drug formulary contains 23 drug groups of monodrugs, 17 of Cardiovascular System (CS), 20 of Nervous System (NS) and 2 of oral hypoglycemic agents (OH). The numbers of dispensed units (u), pharmaceutical specialties (PS), monodrugs of the drug formulary, consultations, prescriptions and chronic patients were obtained. The Principle of Pareto or Analysis ABC was applied by drug group and single agent, identifying the groups of drugs and the drugs with important impact in the global consumption. We calculated the percentage of the total of each group and variations between 2006 and 2009 (V2006/2009). Results Consumption registered in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and V2006/2009: 1. PS: 154, 189, 180, 168; +9. 2. Monodrugs: 114, 134, 127 and 122; +7%. 3. u: 2415045, 2623382, 2878510, 2420879; +0.2%. 4. Drug groups (u): · CS (30%), 778812, 918619, 876169, 785694; +1%. · NS (14%), 456019,  500385, 559651 and 508713; +12%. · OH (11%), 368900, 406360, 405630 and 386850; +5%. 5. AC (u): · Enalapril (60%), 514560, 627500, 584840, 485580; -6%. · Amlodipine (18%), 130625, 132610,  136410, 150330; +15%. · Atenolol (10%), 41300, 40692,  50000, 79776; +93%. 6. SN: · Alprazolam (30%), 152410, 166860, 186980, 147360 (to 1°lugar, except in 2009); -3%. · Clonazepam (24%) 80257, 128190, 181331, 280320; +249%. 7. HO (u): · Metformin (74%), 252000, 281490, 343280, 281670; +36%. · Glibenclamide (25%) 110490, 106000, 62350, 104070; -6% 8. Consultations 239486, 194669, 183161, 184349; -23%. 9. Prescriptions 221896, 176565, 166396, 173616.  -22%. 10. Indicating it prescribes/consults x100 92.66, 90.70, 90.85, 94.18; +1.6%. 11. Chronic patients 5578: hypertensive 3146 (56%), psychiatric 1383 (25%), diabetic type 2821 (15%). Conclusions During the course of this study it was detected: Increase in the variety of specialties and prescribed monodrugs, not thus in amount of units. The group of drug more consumed was the CS, followed by NS and HO, being greater the increase in drugs of the SN and HO. For pathologies cardiovascular it was dispensed mainly enalapril, followed by amlodipine and atenolol, but the V2006/2009 was to the inverse one.
