Resumen:
In previous reports we found that chronic mild stress (CMS)exposure induces a decrease in learning and memory in femaleBALB/c mice. This cognitive deficit correlated with a decreasein CD4+CD25+FOXP3+and an increase in CD4+CD25-FOXP3+regulatory T cells (Tregs) in CMS mice spleen. No differencesin the CD4+CD25+FOXP3+ and CD4+CD25-FOXP3+ Tregswerefound in lymphnodes in stressed mice. Tregs have an importantrole in maintaining self-tolerance through the inhibition of effectorT cells. The main cytokines involved in this mechanism are IL-10and TGF-β, both released by Treg cells. In this context, the aimof this work was to evaluate the levels of the cytokines IL-10 andTGF-β in CMS mice and its correlation with cognitive deficit. Here,we show that CMS mice presented a poor learning performancein the Y-maze (% spontaneous alternation = control: 63.52 ± 1.93;CMS: 50.46 ± 1.96; p
