Crecimiento inicial de plantines de yerba mate en monocultivo o bajo la cobertura de monte nativo y plantación de pino

Yerba mate is a plant native to southern Brazil, northeastern Argentina and eastern Paraguay that grows under an upper canopy in natural conditions, where radiation conditions and water status are regulated by the presence of that canopy. In this work, the initial growth of yerba seedlings under the cover of native forest and pine plantation was evaluated in relation to monoculture. Height, diameter at the neck and dry weight of the yerba-mate seedlings were measured. The yerba-mate seedlings growing in monoculture presented greater height and total dry weight than shelter treatments.
