Resumen:
Administration of probiotics is gaining interest as alternative for treatment of several inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases. In this work we proposed to evaluate the in vivo immunomodulatory properties of two potentially probiotic strains (Lactobacillus kefiri CIDCA 8348 and Enterococcus durans EP1) isolated from dairy products. During 7 and 21 days, male 6 week-old Swiss mice received daily 108 CFU of bacteria (8348 or EP1) or PBS (control). Stools were collected for IgA quantification; and mesenteric lymph nodes (mLN), Payer patches (PP), ileum and colon sections were removed to analyse genes expression and ex vivo cytokines production. After 7 days, treated mice showed a decrease in expression of pro-inflammatory mediators in ileum (IL-1b and IL-17A in 8348-treated mice; IL-12p40, IL-1b, IL-6 and TNFa in EP1-treated mice) (P
