Resumen:
Sm2O3 microspheres werepreparedbythecoprecipitationmethod,usingsamariumnitrateandformic acid. Thesizeofthemicrosphereswasintherange1?6 m; however,extensivefragmentationwas observed. Anoutstandingimprovementofthemicrostructurewasachievedbyusinganaqueoussolu- tion ofpectin.Inthiscase,hollowandnanoporousmicrospheres,havinglittlefragmentation,were produced. Theevolutionofthecrystalstructurewithcalcinationtemperaturerevealedtheformation of single-phasecubicSm2O3, at600◦C. Theeffectsofthecalcinationtemperatureandtheconcentration of samariumnitrate,onthemicrostructureofSm2O3, wereinvestigated.Forthegassensingcharacteriza- tion, thickfilmswerepreparedwiththeas-preparedSm2O3 microspheres. Thegassensingperformance of Sm2O3 sensor deviceswasenhancedwhengoldelectrodeswereused.Transientimpedancemeasure- ments revealedareproducibleandreliabledetectionofcarbondioxideandcarbonmonoxideat400 ◦C. The increaseoftheappliedfrequencyproducedstableandnoiselessgraphs.Furthermore,quantitative detection ofthetestgaseswasrevealedbyimpedanceandpolarizationmeasurements. © 2014ElsevierB.V.Allrightsreserved
