Resumen:
The QT interval obtained from 12-lead standard electrocardiogram (ECG) is utilized as a clinical tool to identify patients at high risk of ventricular arrhythmia. However, the resultsobtained have been controversial. The main objective of this work was to compare the measurement of the QT interval using novel cardiomarkers based on quaternions theory against the standard ECG parameters. Also, it was analyzed different leads configurations as 30-electrodes array, 12-lead standard ECG and XYZ leads in a Langendorff-perfused rabbit heart model. This model was used to obtain experiments with changes of ventricularheterogeneity induced by d-Sotalol supply. The QT interval, T wave peak to end and Q onset to T peak were computed. In general, all the duration variables measured from any of the lead systems utilized were significantly increased after d-Sotalol perfusion. In conclusion, it was observed that cardiomarkers computed from quaternions exhibited good level of significance and could be proposed as a more reliable measurement to definethe QRS onset and the end of the T wave in comparison with standard measurement.
