Change of soil use and water balance in southeast Cordoba (Argentina)

The southernregion of Córdoba (Argentina) experienced an important change in land use inthe last three decades. Theobjective of this work was to evaluate the impact of the change of land use onthe regional water balance at a county level (Pte. Roque Sáenz Peña, in Córdobaprovince). Thechange in land use caused a reduction in the water use at a county level that,added to years with rainfall above the average, generated water excess that increasedwater table levels and the vulnerability of the territory to flood-waterloggingevents.
