Resumen:
Ituglanis passensis, new species, is described from a small subterranean stream of the Passa Três cave, Goiás, Brazil, being the first record of Ituglanis species for the subterranean environment. It differs from all other members of the genus in the reduction of pigmentation and the regression of eyes with some individual variation. It is distinguished from other troglobitic species of Trichomycteridae by maxillary barbel extending to anterior margin of pectoral fin; first pectoral-fin ray prolonged as a short filament; 8 pectoral-fin rays; head length 16 - 17% SL, 7 ribs; premaxilla rectangular, with teeth arranged in 3-4 rows, conic teeth on the outer row.
