Resumen:
Tissueengineeringisbasedonthecombineduseofcells, biomaterialsandsoluble factors inorder torepairdamaged tissues. In thelastdecades,thedesignofmaterialsthatserveasscaffoldforthegrowthanddevelopmentofcells,obtainedfromdifferenttissuesandorgans,hastakenrelevance.Biocompatiblehydrogelsareakindofmaterialthathasgreatpotentialinbiomedicinebecauseitsstructureandpropertiesaresimilartotheextracellularmatrix.Inthepresentwork,thecellviabilityofhumanembryonickidney(HEK293)celllineexposedtodifferenthydrogels,basedonpoly-Nisopropylacrylamide(PNIPAM),wasevaluated.HEK293cellshavebeenwidelyusedincellbiologyresearchformanyyearsbecauseoftheirreliablegrowthandpropensityfortransfection.Celladhesiononhydrogelsurfaceswasalsoanalyzed.Thecytotoxicityofthecellsexposedfor48and96hwasevaluatedthroughtheMTTandneutralredtests.Thecellswereseededontohydrogelsandtheirgrowthonthesurfacewasobservedduring6daysthroughstainingwithHoechstandtoluidineblue.Theresultsindicatedthatallevaluatedhydrogelsdidnotproducetoxicityonthecellline.CellgrowthonPNIPAMsurfaceswasobserved.Theseresultssuggestthatthestudiedhydrogelsaregoodcandidates touseas scaffoldsforHEK293 cell growth forapplications inthe field
