Resumen:
Lactobacilli are the predominant microorganisms in the human vaginal tract. Our work group study the possibility of include them in a probiotic of local application. For that, is necessary to optimize the conditions to obtain a higher biomass, with an optimal growth and at the shorter time possible. To evaluate the growth of L. crispatus, the modified Gompertz model can be applied. The objective of the present work was to study the possibility to transfor the model to a more general by incorporating the parameter inoculum. Based on the growth data, the behaviour of L. crispatus was studied, having into consideration the modifications of initial inoculum. It was observed that the following parameters: maximum growth rate and final Optical Density  don´t show significative variations. The most notable effects were the displacements of the growth curves for the different inocula used, which maintained their basic form, except in the area corresponded to the lag phase. These modifications were interpreted as changes in the starting time of a reference model. The model of Gompertz was adopted as reference, looking for an mathematical expression that includes the displacements in function of the parameter inocula, by using the 0.1%. The  model modified predicted in a satisfactory way the behaviour of L.crispatus in Laptg broth with 1 % inóculum and L.crispatus in MRS broth with 4% inóculum.
