Phellinus tabaquilio is described as new. It was found on living Polylepis australis, Rosaceae, in Córdoba mountains, central Argentina. It belongs to the Phellinus robustus complex (Hymenchaetaceae, Aphyllophorales) being distinguished by its macromorphology, the way it grows and the substrate. is described as new.
