Concentration Dependence of Hyperfine Parameters of Fe-Cu Alloys

Fe-Cu alloys produced by mechanical alloying were studied by Mössbauer spectroscopy.Room-temperature Mössbauer spectroscopy done on samples of Fex-Cu100-x (10< x< 45) show a change with concentration, from a superparamagnetic doublet to a broad sextet. The isomer shiftbehavior with concentration is analyzed with a simple model based on the chemical neighborhood.Quadrupole splitting slightly increases with concentration. Hyperfine parameters of hightemperaturespectra of concentrated samples follow the behavior observed for the less-concentratedsamples. A comparison with the hyperfine parameters of Fe-Cu alloys obtained by sputtering isdone.
