Resumen:
The relationship between ecological and cultural aspects and the use of wild plants in a rural population of Arroyo Las Minas (Río Negro, Argentina). In a Mapuche population, the relationship between plant richness present in the environment and people use, as well as among gender, age and familiar conformation was studied.Free-listing and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 17 peoples in the population, and the flora in the area was also sampled. We found a total of 53 wild useful plants. We did not find any relationship between plant richness present in the area and the richness used by the people. Instead of this, social aspects as gender and familiar conformation seem to be determinant in the ethnobotanical knowledge distribution among Arroyo Las Minas community.
