Resumen:
Nothofagus is an important component in discussions of thebiogeographical history of the Southern Hemisphere because of itsdisjunct distribution in Gondwana. The phylogeny of the genus hasbeen investigated using morphology and sequences of chloroplast andnuclear DNA. Nevertheless, the interrelationships among theirspecies remain poorly understood. The objective of this study is toanalyze interspecific relationships within of the South Americansubgenus Nothofagus.
