Explotación forestal, riesgo empresario y diversificación económica: las inversiones argentinas en el Gran Chaco (1905-1930)

Abstract: Investments of the stock farming group --importers and exporters settled in the "pampa húmeda"-- in marginal areas of the Argentine territory, just in the very begining of the 20th century is the main subject of the present study. This proposal guides the analysis as a part of the economic opening towards forestal working in the Argentine and Paraguayan "Gran Chaco" between 1905 and 1930. That is to say, between the rise and fall of this primary activity. Enterprises, capitals and investors are studied here to show how and why the exceeding profits of these stock farming actors of the "pampa" are invested in this alternative workings as a strong way to decrease their risks. /// Las inversiones efectuadas por el sector ganadero --importadores y exportadores radicados en la pampa húmeda-- en áreas marginales del territorio argentino, sobre el filo del siglo XX, constituyen el asunto central de este estudio. En este caso, la propuesta orienta el análisis como parte de la diversificación económica hacia la explotación forestal en el Gran Chaco argentino y paraguayo entre 1905 y 1930. Es decir, en el contraste de la etapa de auge y decadencia de esta actividad extractiva. Empresas, capitales y grupos inversores son analizados aquí como sustento de este estudio que procura demostrar cómo y por qué la renta excedente, obtenida por estos actores productivos del área pampeana, es invertida en esas explotaciones alternativas como un elemento sustantivo de disminución del riesgo empresario.
