Resumen:
Personal epistemologies allow students to establish (implicitly or explicitly) which is the adequate knowledge to be used when dealing with a particular situation. By using the term epistemic sophistication, we mean that the way subjects constructing that knowledge about their own knowledge is technically complex or advanced. Our operationalization of this concept allowed us to better describe and understand the epistemic unfolding made by college students while they are solving physics problems.
