New NiAs-Type solid solutions Cr1-xTixSe (x = 0-0.15): structural and physical characterization

Resumen:
Both CrSe and TiSe have been previously reported as phases with the nickel arsenide (NiAs) structure type [1, 2]. However, no solid solutions between these compounds are known. Inspired by a similar system of a solid solution between CrSe and VSe [3], we set to explore solid solutions in the CrSe-TiSe system. As a first approach, Cr1-xTixSe compounds with x values of 0, 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15 were synthesized. Structural information was obtained from Powder X-Ray Diffraction data. In addition, X-Ray Emission Spectroscopy studies were conducted in order to investigate the oxidation state of chromium. Electrical resistivity measurements are also presented as preliminary physical characterization
