Resumen:
Welcome to flatland: An introduction to graphene and other 2d materialsLuis E. F. Foa TorresCONICET and FaMAF, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Córdoba, ArgentinaIn the last few years graphene has provided an outstanding playground for testing a wealth of physical phenomena [1,2,3]. At the same time, this two-dimensional form of carbon has been inspiring applications which develop at an unprecedented pace, thereby narrowing the gap between research and technology. In this talk I will give a brief overview of graphene and other 2D materials: what are they, what´s the hype about them and how can we profit from them.[1] Novoselov et al., Nature 438, 197 (2005); Zhang et al., Nature 438, 201 (2005).[2] Castro Neto et al., Rev.
