Resumen:
Electrochemical deposition of copper from copper nitrate aqueous electrolyte on substrate was investigated at current density of 0.03 mA/cm and 1.36 mA/cm and in the voltage range of 3-15V. The surface morphology and elemental composition of the resultant deposit were characterized with electron microprobe analysis (EMPA). These images illustrate that the applied current density has an influence on the shape of copper crystal electrodeposited on the graphite electrode surface. When the applied current density was varied the observed shapes were nanorod, polyhedral bodies, pentagonal pyramid, dendritic, spiked spheres and cauliflower-like.
