Environmental constraints for Late Cretaceous to Early Palaeocene chalk successions from the North Sea

The study combines geochemical, isotope geochemical data with petrography and XRD analices to detemine and quantify the amount of non-carbonate materila, to evaluate the influence of clastic material and to stablish palaeowater temperatures during deposition and of early diagenetic fluids. We concentrate on sampling marker horizons and along contacts to identigy geochemical and chemostratigraphic variations from well to well. It should be tested if these variations are related to facies or to burial processes or both.
