Resumen:
The first edition of the ?Congreso Argentino de Electrónica? CAE, is taking place in Mar delPlata, Prov. of Buenos Aires, hosted by Universidad CAECE Mar del Plata and organized byICYTE (Instituto de Investigaciones Científicas y Tecnológicas en Electrónica, UniversidadNacional de Mar del Plata, CONICET), co-located with the twelfth edition of the school ofMicro-Nanoelectronics, Technology and Applications (EAMTA). CAE arises as the continuationand expansion of the Conference on Micro-Nanoelectronics, Technology and Applications(CAMTA), and aims at providing a national quality forum for a wide range of topics in the fieldof electronics.Eighteen (18) regular papers, out of twenty-six (26) initial submissions were accepted to bepresented at the conference and afterwards be published in IEEE Xplore. The revision processwas rigorous and achieved a 69% acceptance rate. Paper topics include circuit testing, RFcircuits and receivers, digital integrated circuits (IC), convolutional networks and neuralcomputation IC, low power and analog IC, compressed sensing techniques, CCD IC,memristors, power electronics, radiation effects on circuits, and speech recognition techniques.CAE is also hosting a Student and PhD forum where fifteen (15) posters will be presented duringthe conference, encouraging young researchers to present their work. We want to specially thankall reviewers for their hard work in providing useful feedback to improve the papers, as they arethe key to maintain the technical quality of the proceedings. The Technical Program is also very diverse and rich. During the event, several lectures will bedelivered by experts from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, South Africa and Belgium. Industryday will count with known Semiconductor, Design and EDA companies from around the world, plus representatives of investment funds and important national electronic companies. This year,a work session with EDA and local companies will be held with the objective of setting up newinitiatives to leverage local industry using new technologies. One of the targets of the event is to help establish a technological platform in the country, and indoing this, we continue emphasizing the central role of students. Therefore, continuing with thetradition started in the first EAMTA, a record number of 60 grants (30 full lodging grants and 30full travel grants) were provided to students from different provinces of Argentina, Chile andUruguay. We want to thank all sponsors for making this possible. Eighty (80) participants haveregistered for the event so far. This year, four course tracks will be offered during EAMTA. The basic track (30 attendees) willcover basic topics on analog circuits, digital circuits, tools, device physics and designlaboratories with EDA tools. An additional analog course will provide hands-on design ofCMOS amplifiers (22 attendees). Synopsys will deliver a track covering advanced digitaltechniques (19 attendees) and entry-level knowledge of digital design flow and advancedindustrial tools & techniques for digital synthesis and basic digital track based on FPGA (16attendees).
