Resumen:
The eleventh edition of the ?Conferencia Argentina de Microelectrónica, Tecnología yAplicaciones? CAMTA, is taking place in San Martin, Buenos Aires, hosted by UniversidadNacional de San Martin, co-located with the eleventh edition of its associated school (EAMTA).Seven regular papers, out of twelve initial submissions were accepted to be presented at theconference and afterwards be published in IEEE Xplore. The revision process was rigorous andachieved a 58% acceptance rate. Paper topics include simulation, CCD, X-ray imagers, on-chipdisease detectors, radiation effects, analog design, III-V semiconductors, PLL design. This yearfor the first time, CAMTA is hosting a Student and PhD forum where five posters will bepresented during the conference, encouraging young researchers to present their work. We wantto specially thank all reviewers for their hard work in providing useful feedback to improve thepapers, as they are the key to maintain the technical quality of the proceedings. The Technical Program is also very diverse and rich. During the event, several lectures will bedelivered by experts from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and Belgium. Industry day willcount with known Semiconductor, Design and EDA companies from around the world, plusrepresentatives of investment funds and important national electronic companies. This year, awork session with EDA and local companies will be held with the objective of setting up newinitiatives to leverage local industry using new technologies. One of the targets of the event is to help establish a technological platform in the country, and indoing this, we continue emphasizing the central role of students. Therefore, continuing with thetradition started in the first EAMTA, a record number of 107 grants (51 full lodging grants and56 full travel grants) were provided to students from different provinces of Argentina, Chile andUruguay. We want to thank all sponsors for making this possible. One hundred thirty (130)participants have registered for the event so far. This year, six course tracks will be offered during EAMTA. The basic track (30 attendees) willcover basic topics on analog circuits, digital circuits, tools, device physics and designlaboratories with EDA tools. An additional analog course will provide hands-on design ofCMOS amplifiers (21 attendees). Synopsys will deliver a track covering advanced digitaltechniques (19 attendees) and entry-level knowledge of digital design flow and advancedindustrial tools & techniques for digital synthesis. A microfabrication track provided a generalinsight to deposition techniques related with micro-devices fabrication, as well as pre-depositionstrategies and post-deposition alternatives (15 attendees). In addition, there will be a specializedtrack in design and test of fault-tolerant embedded systems for aerospace applications (29attendees) and a basic digital track based on FPGA (11 attendees). We hope you enjoy the event and the city, and wish you an enriching experience.
