Resumen:
The sixth edition of the “Escuela Argentina de Microelectrónica, Tecnología y Aplicaciones”, is taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, hosted by the “Facultad de Ingeniería” of the “Universidad de Buenos Aires”. Twenty papers have been selected out of twenty-eight initial submissions, after a rigorous revision process. Paper topics included reliability analysis, embedded systems, FPGA’s, RF circuits and RFID, radiation effects on MOS devices and circuits, high K materials, MEMS, power electronics, optoelectronics, and imaging CCD’s . Eight students posters will be presented during the conference, encouraging young researchers to present their first works. All papers received between three and six reviews. We want to specially thank all reviewers for their hard work in providing useful feedback to improve the papers, as they are the key to maintain the technical quality of the proceedings. The Technical Program is also very rich. During the event, sixteen lectures will be delivered by experts from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, France, Uruguay, and USA. Industry day will count with known Semiconductor, Design and EDA companies from around the world, plus representatives of Investment Funds. This year, four course tracks will be offered. One Basic Track will cover basic topics on analog circuits, digital circuits, tools, and design laboratories. An Advanced Digital Track will be delivered by Synopsys in order to provide an entry-level knowledge of advanced and industrial tools & techniques. An Advanced Analog Design track will cover an introduction to analog design, design for low noise, low power, Gm-C filters, chopped filters and layout techniques. Finally a Track of Basic Sciences Applied to Microelectronics will cover physics of MOS devices, lab characterization techniques, optoelectronic devices, radiation effects, and selected new technologies. One of the targets of EAMTA is to help establish a technological platform in the country, and in doing this, we continue emphasizing the central role of students. Therefore, continuing with the tradition started in the first EAMTA, one hundred (100) travel and lodging grants were provided to students from different provinces of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay. We want to thank all sponsors for making this possible. Two hundred students have confirmed their participation in the tracks of the EAMTA. We hope you enjoy the event and the city, and wish you an enriching experience.
