Resumen:
In this work, the initial characterization and pre-treatment conditions of Mm (Misch metal) necessary to the successful synthesis of MmNi5 is presented. The temporal evolution related to the morphology and Ni crystallite size of the reactive powders during this synthesis is characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The data obtained is analyzed considering the typical mechanisms present during mechanical alloy. As a result, the following steps are found: 1) Initial stage. 2) Intermediate stage 3) Final stage 4) Completion stage.
