Resumen:
A border and a bridge have something in common: the moment of pure transition from one side to the other, the time (instants, eternities) when I am not in my country nor am I abroad, when I am not at home nor am I in the street. The threshold moment. You're about to go into your new home, about to go back to your hometown afters years away, about to graduate, to get married, to have a child. Before taking that step, you are in a certain state, you are a certain type of person; after you take it, something crucial will have changed. But there is a meanwhile, a being on the edge, neither in nor out: there is time there. Duration is not the source of significance. Though it may only be an instant, there will be no lack of intensity. That is liminality.
