Resumen:
The smooth integration of large wind farms into the utility grids is a highly topical subject. Thetechnical regulations for grid connection of wind power plants increasingly demand for highflexibility in wind turbine control. In this work attention is drawn to control the wind turbinefor variable power production as function of the power demand. With this aim, the dynamic behavior of wind turbines along an extended operating locus, associated to the new interconnection requirements, is analyzed in depth. The control problem is particularly challenging in the high wind speed region where both power production and rotational speed must be regulated. For this region, a robust multivariable gain-scheduled controller is designed based on tools and concepts of linear parameter-varying systems. Numerical simulations obtained for realistic wind speed profiles and power production demands are presented.
