Resumen:
During a long time, attempts to find a relationship between climate and solar activity failed to reveal any association. However recently, researchers of the Danish Meteorological Institute found that Northern Hemisphere temperature follows the solar cycle length (SCL) variation, suggesting that SCL could be a possible indicator of long-term changes in the total output of the sun. It should be expected that in the case these exist changes in the solar energy better shown by SCL than by the traditional indices Rz or F10.7, these should be observed more clearly in upper atmospheric temperature and ionospheric data (supposedly less influenced by anthropogenic and earth activities), than in surface air temperature. The purpose of this work is to verify this hypothesis. To do this it has been analyzed the correlation between SCL and each of the following variables: the peak electron density of the F2 layer (Nmax), tropospheric temperature and lower stratospheric temperature.
