Resumen:
The maximum electron density of theF2 region, NmF2, of the low latitude ionosphere is due to production and loss processes, the ExB drift, neutral winds and diffusion. In this study, 25 years of data from Tucuman, a station located at the southern crest of the equatorial anomaly (26.9°S, 65°W, dip angle 22°) were used in order to quantify the ExB drift contribution. Monthly hourly means of NmF2 during the period 1958-1982 and experimental values of drift velocity measured at Jicamarca (dip angle 2°) during the period 1968-1992, were considered.
