Resumen:
This work presents the assessment of Pedersen and Hall ionospheric conductivities for Tucuman (26.8°S, 65.2°W), located under the southern crest of the equatorial ionization anomaly. Theoretical equations of the ionospheric conductivities were used. The neutral parameters of these equations were obtained from the MSIS90, the magnetic field from the DGRF/IGRF model, and the electron density data from a Digisonde 256 installed in Tucuman. The results are compared with those obtained from the Ionospheric Conductivity Model of the WDC for Geomagnetism from Kyoto University, which uses the same theoretical equations but ionospheric outputs from the IRI2007 model. According to our results and due to the importance of an accurate determination of conductivities, experimental ionospheric data should be used in the conductivity assessment from theoretical equations in the case of Tucuman.
