The ionosphere can reflect, refract and absorb waves; so, it is important to know the reflection (R) and the transmission (T) coefficients in order to determine the waves behaviors. In this study, T and R coefficients of the polarized high frequency (HF) wave traveling vertically in ionospheric plasma have been investigated. T and R coefficients of the polarized wave are analitically obtained and the coefficients values have been assessed. The parameters needed for the calculations have been obtained from the International Reference Ionosphere (IRI). The altitudinal, diurnal and seasonal variations of T and R coefficients have been examined for quiet solar activity days. It is shown that T decreases with altitude while R increases. This happens also for increasing wave frequency. In general, the wave R coefficient at the same frequency are smaller in summer than in winter for any altitude while T coefficients are greater in winter.
