The confrontation with extraordinary events that question our own conceptions of ?reality? seems to be one of the more seductive expectations of the ethnographical experience. Starting with description of my own fieldwork experiences of interaction with extraordinary lighting phenomena in the Andes of Argentina, I will analyze to what extent scientific gap in the research of the ?extraordinary? can be intended from anthropological praxis and discursive genres.
