Resumen:
Alcohol hangover (AH) is the transient state that occurs after acute ethanol consumption and begins when blood alcohol concentration is zero. The aim of the present work was to study mitochondrial bioenergetics and NO metabolism at the beginning of AH in brain cortex synaptosomes (S) and in non-synaptic mitochondria (NSm). Swiss male mice were treated with a single i.p. injection of saline (control group) or ethanol (3.8 g/kg; AH group) and the biochemical assays were performed at AH onset.
