Resumen:
During oil and gas operations, pipelines are subjected to corrosion deterioration mechanisms, one of which is microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC). The aim of this work was to analyze the behavior of different polymeric coatings on L80 PI samples in a continuous culture of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) after 3 and 6 months of exposure. L80 API carbon steel samples with different coatings were placed in the bioreactor. At the end of the exposure periods, the samples were scraped with a sterile scalpel and cultured in Postgate B liquid medium to count biofilm-forming bacteria. Control samples, L80 API with the different coatings exposed to Postgate C medium without inoculation were also assayed. To evaluate the morphology of the biofilms and the integrity of the coatings, the samples were observed with the scanning electron microscope. The microphotographs were analyzed using the software ImageJ. Surface elemental analysis using EDS was made.
