Resumen:
This paper explores the concerns that inspired the new wave of studies on populism in Argentina, closer to the debates on the construction of a new political order in the 1980s than to the proliferation of popular governments in new century South America. The characteristics and difficulties related to these studies are analyzed in the paper, as well as the key features of the Argentinean populist identities in the XXth century, in a comparative perspective with another regional processes. Finally,the work illuminates the continuities and the transformations of those features in the new political order established in Argentina since 1983.
