Resumen:
In mammals and insects ADX mediates electron transfer from NADPH via ADRX to the terminal acceptor, mitochondrial P450 which constitutes the fiorst step in steroid hormone synthesis. A thaliana has an ADRX homologue and 2 ADX which are also located in the mitochondria. Alhotugh there 244 P450s in Arabidopsis, no known P450 located in mitochondria. To study the possibility that a similar biosynthetic hormone pathway exists in plants we analyzes putative P450 proteins that may be located in plant mitochondria via Gfp fusion proteins and transient transformation of N bethamiana. An independent approach used yeast two hybrid system. T- DNA insertional mutants were analysed showing defect in gametophyte development.
