Resumen:
The range of characteristics, conditions, and consequences with which themanagement of human-wildlife interactions must deal in Latin America is exceptionallybroad: from the growing nuisance in some of the largest cities in the world totraditional use in isolated communities in the Amazon, Andes, and Patagonia, toencounters in rural landscapes, protected areas and in the expanding infrastructure. Inthis presentation, my aim is to set the scene for Human-Wildlife Conflict in the Region and describe the main drivers that have an impact on it. The presentation will be given within the Latin America High-Level Panel Session: “Collaboration for Coexistence across Latin America “ organized by Silvio Marchini, Rogério de Paula, Santiago Zuluaga, Ronit Amit, Mariana Catapani, James Stevens, Alexandra Zimmermann, Jamie Copsey.
