Resumen:
The use of natural fillers in polyolefin formulations has been a usual procedure in industry. Among them, some efforts have been carried out to study the mixture of rice husk or rice husk ash to polyolefins. Characterization of materials has been one of the main points of study in this area and some methods were proposed by which pyrolysis rates of biomass materials can be predicted from the species compositions in terms of the basic constituents. Kinetic parameters were also calculated by application of classical mathematical methods and apparent activation energies and reaction orders can be calculated. Pyrolysis of biomass materials is also important for the knowledge of the volatile and non-volatile products. Polyolefins-based composites with rice husk modify their thermal degradation processes in oxidative conditions. The main goal of this work is to review the recent research on the field of thermal degradation of composites based on polyolefins with different additions of rice husk and other biomass materials.
