Resumen:
Reaction-induced phase separation was analyzed in a model system consisting of an almost monodisperse polystyrene dissolved in a reactive solvent that undergoes a linear stepwise polymerization. The Flory-Huggins model could be used to fit cloud-point conversions using an interaction parameter depending on temperature, composition and conversion. Model limitations and ways to improve the thermodynamic description are discussed.
