Effect of water resistance of CoZeolites upon the SCR of NOx with CH4

This work studies the nature of the species present when Co and Pt are exchanged with Mordenite, ZSM5, Ferrierite and Y-Zeolite. The firs three solids are active for the SCR of Nox with methane in wet atmospheres after being reduced in H2 at 350ºC for 1 h. By TPR, FTIR and XPS it could be determined that in the reduced and used samples coexist Co(0), Pt(0), Co(2+) and Pt(2+) at exchange positions and acidic OH. All these species would be responsible for the high activity and selectivity of the bimetallic solids.
