Resumen:
In this work we study the effect of the incorporation of palladium on In-mordenite catalysts prepared by the reductive solid-state ion exchange method (RSSIE) for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with methane. The Pd promoting effect upon the catalysts activity strongly depends on the In/Al and Pd/In ratios. The best formulation obtained is PdInM(1/3), with In/Al=1/3 ratio. The characterization results (TPR, NO-TPD) suggest that in the most active catalyst after reaction there is an increase of the active species. The CO-FTIR adsorption results indicate that the small amount of Pd (0.5 wt%) into the mordenite matrix interacts with indium incorporated by RSSIE. The CO adsorption capacity of PdInHMor catalyst depends on the In/Al ratio and the wafer pretreatment (calcined or reduced). These features also affect the position that palladium occupies into the matrix. On the PdInM(1/3) catalyst, indium probably occupies the exchange positions of the side pockets and Pd take place in more accessible positions in the main channels.
