Resumen:
Dierent pattern recognition algorithms have been compared by applying them to observed and simulated photometric observations of composed stellar populations. They have been used to discern members in the dierent stellar populations and also to characterize the youngest stellar population. Simulated data were obtained based on observational parameters of clusters and associations (spatial, color-magnitude, mass, etc., distributions). Furthermore, observations used correspond to images of elds in the nearby galaxies NGC 300 and NGC 253 obtained with the Advanced Camera for Surveys (on board the Hubble Space Telescope).Dierent parameters in the algorithms have been employed to optimize the methodology. The procedures used provide an alternative to traditional methodologies to describe the characteristics of the dierent stellar populations.
