Resumen:
We present results from CCD UBVRI photometric observations up to V = 19 mag and polarimetric observations up to V = 13 mag in the region of the small open cluster Lynga 1. This cluster is surrounded by four supernova remnants. We re-determined its reddening, distance modulus and age, obtaining E(B-V) = 0. 44, (Vo - Mv) = 11.2 and 100 to 125 Myr respectively. We have also found that t he bright red star in the field is likely to be a cluster member. If this is th e case it would be a red supergiant of Luminosity Class II. Our photometry sugg ests that the R value in the region is anomalous. The luminosity and mass funct ions slopes were calculated and compared with the values obtained in other clus ters of similar ages.
