Resumen:
Paper-based assays are needed of a strategy for making results quantitative. In this work we havedesigned a new, robust, easy-to-use and low cost staple-based electrochemical detector for quantitativeanalysis on paper-based analytical systems. This is the first report that describes this application forstaples. This simple amperometric platform allows obtaining precise and accurate results withpotential application to many fields. It has been optimised employing the signal of ferrocene, a wellknownredox probe. As a proof-of-concept, the possibility of using it in bioassays has beendemonstrated through the signal of 3,3?,5,5?-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB), substrate of horseradishperoxidase (HRP) that is an enzyme commonly used in e.g. enzymatic, immune or DNA assays.
