Resumen:
Although Biomedical Engineering started in Argentina about 35 years ago, it has had a sustained growth for the last 25 years, in human resources, with the emergence of new undergraduate and postgraduate careers, as well as in research, knowledge, technological development and health care. This paper presents the undergraduate and postgraduate offers in Bioengineering in Argentina and the different research areas at the universities. The research centers grouped into the Argentine Society of Bioengineering (SABI) are also presented. The degree offered, range from technician to doctor, with intermediate levels such as engineer (diploma), specialist and master. In Argentina, the official degree is bioengineer or biomedical engineer (diploma), which is somewhat higher than the American bachelor and lower than the master.
