Resumen:
Conversion of carbon dioxide into fuels and chemical products gives an answer to two important needs: the reduction of atmospheric carbon dioxide, thus reducing the associated problem of greenhouse effects, and the synthesis of fuels and chemicals from renewable sources. This chapter deals with those processes that have been developed and put into practice for the recycling of carbon dioxide. We focus on those processes that make indirect use of it. Updated information is given on the use of chemicals synthesized from carbon dioxide, describing those plants and projects with a high production capacity. The most promising technologies are discussed, especially those that may establish a permanent efficient source of renewable fuels and chemical products.
