Resumen:
Geochemistry of the Villismán granite and surrounding Li-pegmatites, Ancasti range, Argentina. In this paper, we present data on the geochemical composition of the granitic stock of Villismán, Sierra de Ancasti, Catamarca province (Argentina). Zoned Li-pegmatites with giant spodumene crystals are present in the neighboring area surrounding the granitic body. Both the granite and the Li-pegmatites intrude to banded schists which has great extension in the range. These rocks belong to the Villismán pegmatite group of the Ancasti district (Pampean Pegmatite Province). Geochemically, the granite is peraluminous, rich in silica and potassium. It has a calcoalkaline character and has S￾type granites affinity. The geochemical data obtained and the chronological information available in the literature indicate that the Villismán granite and the surrounding lithium pegmatites would not have a genetic relationship.
