Resumen:
In this paper we will analyze why people prefer to stay in their cities, towns or villages rather than migrate to cities where living conditions are more favorable. We will also analyze the situation faced by migrants in the labor and health markets together with some policy recommendations that could help improve their quality of life. Finally, the issue of Sanctuary Cities and their characteristics in the United States and the United Kingdom is raised.
